The Laids have culled from the audio archives, from the unpublished and unperformed works of our contributors, from the tupperware containers deep within ourselves to bring you stories and parts of stories that almost went untold. As we are about to graduate, and everyone seems to be looking forward, we at the village are more concerned with the things that get left behind.

In this episode, we hear from the waitressing frontlines, the neighborhoods of New Haven, the pool waters of Long Island, and the notebooks of playwrights.

SO IS THIS ACTUALLY THE END OF THINGS AS WE KNOW IT? In the face of apocalypto-predicaments everywhere we look, the Ladies Village Improvement Society is taking the inflated rhetoric to a whole new level.
This week, Lacy muses on the future of humanity, with some help from Charles Darwin on his 200th birthday.
Rachel looks into the mythology surrounding 2012ers, who fear the end is near.
Plus - appearances from Anthropologists Richard Gould and Stephen Houston, a poem by Robert Creeley and a story that’s kind of about coming of age in the New Age, from sculptor-poet Galen Broderick!
Will we ever make it to Darwin’s 250th? What will the world look like when we get there?
You can listen to this week’s (or any week’s) episode of LVIS, the podcast, at our website, LVISRADIO.ORG .
